Khufra was a greedy ruler, colder than ice, and avaricious to limitless extents. In order to satisfy his personal desire to rule, he led the powerful army of Arnak to invade the city to conquer the Western Desert. Tirelessly, Khufra expanded his domain and riches beyond compare. Unfortunately, the Minoan Empire proved to be too difficult of a foe to conquer.
Even so, Khufra longed for more power. He sought the most famous astrologer in the Land of Dawn to help himself. Much to Khufra's dismay, the astrologer knew of Khufra's insidious goals and declined and was swiftly slain. Only the young Eslora felt deeply attracted to Khufra, who then became lovers. Khufra's callousness sent Eslora into a mess of internal conflict and love. Gradually, Eslora deeply loved Khufra and began to help Khufra with his rule. Over time, Eslora used her magical abilities to grant Khufra magical powers that were never before seen. However, Khufra became even more and more cruel and hungry for power. His conquests did not end with the Western Desert, he sought to conquer the entire Land of Dawn. Seeing the cruelty of her love, Eslora decided to save Khufra from the hate of the people. Even then, Khufra continued to use magic to enhance his powers.
He asked Eslora to give all the spells to him. He must completely eliminate the Minoan Empire. No one could question his power. One night, Eslora came to Khufra and she deeply embraced her lover. She began to place Khufra under a powerful curse, while Khufra was expecting the ultimate power given by Eslora. Suddenly, Khufra felt suppressed by a powerful force. He turned his head and looked at Eslora. No matter how Khufra tried to break free, Eslora did not stop chanting her curse. Khufra could not believe that his lover was punishing him. Eslora wept as she bound her love into an eternal slumber. She chose to personally seal her lover in the ancient city and built a grand monument. Eslora believed it was better to end Khufra before he became despised by the people, going down in history as the cruel king who loved nothing but power. Since then, the smoke of the war in the Western Desert disappeared.
However, hundreds of years later, a cataclysmic event occurred in the Western Desert. A wave of energy from an orb awakened Khufra from his slumber, who swelled with hatred and anger. Returning to the world. Khufra could not accept the betrayal of his lover in the past. His abilities and desires were stronger than ever before. He vowed to find Eslora and continue to conquer the centuries-old wish to hold the Land of Dawn within his hands.

"Die, invader!" Uranus waves his giant arm at the old man, a string of flying blades shooting at the ground! Quick as a flash, "Phylax" came as summoned and reached out its strong metal arm to catch the blades.
Edith spoke from "Phylax" the Mecha, "Let my father go."
Uranus shouted at the Mecha in front, "Traitor!"
And Edith calmly replied, "Or let's fight to the death."
Among the temple ruins in the depths of the valley, Edith and Uranus were locked in a fierce battle, roars of thunder echoing in the mountains as lightning strikes crashed against each other, shattering the stone pillars and statues.
While the two were still in a deadlock, a birdlike Guardian of the Celestial Palace—Kaja closed his wings and descended upon the ruins, "Stop the foolish fight! The Celestial Palace is in peril!" They looked up at the sky, and as expected, Edith couldn't sense the energy of the holy city anymore. And soon, pieces began plummeting from the sky—in the blink of an eye, the great Celestial Palace started to collapse!
Since the palace fell, the temple on the Sanctum Island could no longer receive energy from above, and sealed Evil Gods started to flee.
Uranus commanded in a thunder-like voice, "Kaja, we shall stay and fix the seals! Edith, arrest the Evil Gods!"
To that Edith answered, "I understand my duty. Let me send my father back first!"
Kaja and Uranus stayed behind in the valley of the temple to watch over the rest of the Evil Gods, while Edith drove her "Phylax" and took her foster father back to the village.
As Edith stared at her senile and shaky father, she couldn't hold back tears running down her cheeks. After ten years of living with a family, she was no longer the cold and heartless Primal Warden.
I'm his only child, his hope for the future. How will he go on living if I leave now?
But the land was facing new crises due to the fall of the Celestial Palace. Edith had to fulfill her duty as the Warden and hunt down the escaped Evil Gods.
Farewell, dear father! Please trust me, I will one day return to you…
I promise!
Edith drove "Phylax" and flew toward the Land of Dawn.
Later, a lot of people across the Land of Dawn would claim that they had seen a giant Mecha Guard. Every time an Evil God wreaked havoc in the world, Edith and her "Phylax" would be there in an instant, punishing the dark forces without mercy.
In between battles, the girl would detach from "Phylax" and gaze at the far distant northeast. Across the horizon, mountains, rivers and seas, on the remote island, an old man would also be looking longingly at the direction of his daughter…

Johnson was a legend on the world of Varis, a place where speed is everything. Here, the sport of auto racing was monopolized by the rich and elite until Johnson became the first commoner to shatter that mold. But just when he shocked the world by winning his first official race, he vanished without a trace.
The only person who had a clue to Johnson's whereabouts was an old man who claimed to have ridden in his car. According to him, Johnson drove so fast that he tore open the fabric of space and went beyond the stars. However, all of those who have heard the story simply dismissed the old man as being senile.
This old man lived an ordinary life and spent most of it in the slums of the city. He was a construction worker in his youth and helped build many of the city's extravagant sights, including the famous Varis Speedway racetrack. He earned a meager salary for his labor, but enjoyed gazing at the downtown lights and getting lost in their promises of a better life. Years and years passed, and he grew old. He could no longer work like he used to, but his debts continued to pile up. Visits from debt collectors became increasingly frequent and violent, and one night they came for blood.
The old man ran with everything he had, but he felt like he was sinking in mud. This city that he helped build would surely give him a way out, right? Little did he know, his salvation was heading towards him at 180 miles an hour...
"Hey, get in the car!"
The old man was suddenly pulled into the passenger seat by a firm grip as his pursuers disappeared in the rear-view mirror. Everything happened so quickly that the old man only saw a flash of light, and thought he was finally going to meet his maker.
When he came to his senses, he realized that the driver was just a kid. A young boy that filled up nearly the whole driver's seat.
This was the old man's first time in Johnson's car. He had spent his entire life in Varis, but he had never seen the city like this; at least not at this speed. Johnson drove like he was possessed, speeding around every corner of the city. They were going so fast that the world outside seemed to be moving in slow motion.
"My pops always said to be fast!"
The old man didn't know what kind of father this boy had, but the boy spoke of him with a sparkle in his eyes and held those words dear to his heart. For the first time, the old man began to understand why the people of Varis kept saying that speed was passion, and the pinnacle of speed was the limits of the universe. After experiencing such extreme speed, he gained a deeper understanding of the city.
The people were always coming and going in a hurry, and it was all exemplified by the words of Johnson's father: "Be fast!"
The old man did not see the boy for many years after that fateful ride. He returned to the construction site despite being too old and sickly for the work. He looked up just as a pipe came crashing down from the top floors. He closed his eyes and thought he would finally be free of his debts.
Suddenly, there was another flash of light, and a figure, or rather the silhouette of a car sped through and grabbed the old man. For a moment, he could not comprehend what he was seeing...
"I've gotten faster, right? Hahaha!"
It was Johnson! He's become... half machine, half car? A roaring engine was now Johnson's new heart, and a carbon frame was his body. On both sides of him stood exhaust pipes that looked like bottle rockets. In this world where speed is everything, the old man couldn't think of a more fitting body for Johnson.
But it was tragedy that led to this moment. Johnson and his father had gotten into a terrible car accident, and only Johnson survived the crash. He didn't have the money to pay for expensive prosthetics, so he allowed the doctors to perform an experimental procedure to fuse him with his car.
The old man furrowed his brow. This kid had managed to outrun death. And not once, but twice! Despite his age, he saw in Johnson the true meaning of speed. It felt strange, yet real.
As the old man said goodbye to Johnson for the second time, he had a feeling that they would meet at the edge of the universe someday.
The old man's life went on uneventfully after that, until the day he saw Johnson on a jumbotron, crossing the finish line at Varis Speedway. That kid had performed a miracle! He was the first commoner to win an official race. He became a trailblazer and a beacon of hope for the lower class; the catalyst that will change this world forever.
Excitement surged through the old man's veins, and he began dreaming of becoming like Johnson; to have passion pumped through a roaring engine into his soul.
Johnson did not show up at the podium after his win. When he crossed the finish line, something triggered in his mechanical body and a blinding light appeared ahead like a doorway to another world. And just like that, Johnson, who had just become a legend in his world, vanished into the light.
"Johnson was my apprentice, you know. Now he's out there among the stars. There! That's him!"
The old man got his wish and became like Johnson, and now lives his life at breakneck speed. In his spare time, the old man would tell stories about his time with Johnson. He still believes that if you can go fast enough, you can leave this mundane world and soar into the cosmos, just like Johnson did.
Johnson, at this time, had just arrived on a strange new world. To him, this just meant new faces to meet, new places to explore, and new speed limits to break.
"Hey, you with the ponytails. Wanna race?"
The roar of his engine echoed throughout Eruditio.

During a huge war waged in the Barren Lands, the Moniyan Empire's Second Regiment was almost entirely annihilated. Among the sea of corpses strewn all around, a Moniyan soldier had managed to survive; yet lost every one of his comrades, and was left to walk back to his homeland alone.
Dark clouds shroud the Barren Lands year in, year out. Without the sun, moon and stars to guide his path, this solitary survivor lost his way and strayed into the Shadow Swamp.
Both the earth and water found within the forests of the Shadow Swamp are corrupted by the Abyss, leaving the place moist and putrid. The man's extreme hunger and fatigue, together with the endless forest that surrounded him, plunged him into darkness and despair.
Just as he was about to pass out, a most peculiar feeling wrenched him back to consciousness: a sticky sensation spread upon his back, and then he lost all control of his limbs which ran wildly of their own accord.
He would describe this moment in his memoirs as feeling like he was but a wooden puppet, like those played by the Moniyan children. He was manipulated by some invisible force, nimbly darting through the forest at an unbelievable speed.
The man was about to lose consciousness when the body he no longer controlled came to a halt. Coming to himself, he watched with wide eyes at what laid before him...
There he saw the ruins of a great vine-entangled temple, weathered by the wind and frost yet still grand and imposing. These ancient temple ruins stuck out like a sore thumb within their Shadow Swamp surroundings.
The strange sensation that ran down his back faded away as he stopped, yet it was just then that he caught sight of something small that hopped into the nearby bushes, seemingly in hiding.
Could that thing be behind all of this? The soldier was determined to get to the bottom of it all, and ploughed ahead in the direction the figure had taken. From the vegetation there emanated a loud rustling, and it seemed some kind of violent struggle was taking place within.
And so as the soldier crept over stealthily, reaching out to push aside a branch, there appeared before him a little critter about the size of a coal briquette; he prepared to catch it and study it more closely, yet before he could make a move, countless others had emerged from all around. They stacked together in an orderly fashion, and in a little over ten seconds the creature no bigger than a lump of coal had transformed into a mighty beast. This struck terror into the heart of the poor Moniyan soldier who fainted on the spot. But when he awakened once more[,] he found himself no longer within the swamp, instead upon the border of the Barren Lands and the Empire.
Upon returning to the empire[,] he regaled those all around with this tale. The Moniyan citizens held much respect for this veteran, yet dismissed his story as merely the hallucinations of a man racked by fatigue while having narrowly escaped death.
After all, even the most learned scholars in Moniyan had never even heard of such a creature. There was little the soldier could do but write his experiences down on paper instead, that evidence to be uncovered in later ages could perhaps prove his sanity.
As luck would have it, he didn't have to wait quite so long. This dream of his was realized while he was still alive and well.
When the Elven text "Azrya" reached the Academy of Magic, a student from the Moniyan Empire read records within of a faction called the Gloo--records which conformed directly with the experiences of that Moniyan soldier he'd read before.
The curious student sought the dean of the Ulturia School, Eudora, who having glanced over the soldier's writings confirmed that they indeed described a Gloo encounter.
Having heard it from Eudora, mankind became aware of Gloo--peculiar beings with peculiar ways of living. Through a mysterious secretion, once just one of their number had attached to any living being, they could then begin to completely enshroud it.
What's more, this gel-like outer coating of theirs acted as a cognizant organ that allowed unique neural networks to function among individual “Goos” which formed the larger sensation “Gloo”. Of these beings some would hold higher roles within the network, commanding all the others when they combined into one form. Through merging in different number[,] they were able to control their size and shape at will.
Goos were found to be intelligent and pure beings, proud of their 'group wisdom' they shared which was mostly used to pull pranks on the neighboring Elves. When she heard of the Moniyan soldier's bizarre adventure, she realized what had happened: a group of Goos must had wandered out too far, and so they latched on to him as a larger organism to hitch a ride back home.
Since its birth, the Goos had never ventured out of Azrya, instead guarding over the forests and the mysterious old temple. They had never initiated any kind of battle, at the most taking on the form of a terrifying beast to scare away any outsiders who broke into their territory by accident. Even the Elves who lived not far from them knew little of their kind.
Perhaps the greatest of Goo’s intelligence could be seen in their residing within the deep expanses of the forests, living in peaceful harmony with the rest of the world.
However, the Abyss changed everything.
Taking shelter in the ancient temple, Goos strove to hang on to their rationality and faith, to avoid becoming like those Dark Elves nearby who had fallen to its clutches. But a deep and dark corruption spread into them and their forest home as the Abyss exerted its power.
Eudora was by no means unaware of Goo’s predicament. At the end of the Moniyan soldier's writings she left a few sentences.
"The Abyss is a catastrophe. It strikes division among the factions, and breeds pure hatred. But maybe, just maybe, this is a chance for us: a chance for every soul across these lands to come together once more, to stand as one."
When the fates of all the peoples become interlinked together, where will the gentle Gloo head to next?

The dark, cold and mysterious deep sea is the last unexplored frontier in the Land of Dawn. All the way down from surface, the sun fades away and the temperature drops, then there is complete darkness. It is called the Abysmal Sea, where currents and the high pressure are strong enough to tear apart any advanced materials Eruditio has invented. This place is a forbidden zone of life, where no human has ever set foot in. Only the remains of those abandoned and eliminated civilizations have been sinking and piling up.
Nevertheless, it is not only death here. Many unbelievable and indescribable creatures, including Atlas, have been struggling and multiplying for ages in this dangerous area. They were among the oldest living things on the Land of Dawn, devouring elemental creatures for power, which made them imprisoned in this deepest place by the Ancient Ones. The powerful Injunction blocked light, heat as well as their upward path. In order to adapt to the high-pressure environment, they removed their shells and redundant structures, and developed a variety of fluid shapes. In the endless darkness, there is no fight and strife, only the law of survival: existence, alternation and circulation.
Ages after ages, however, some things have gradually changed. The changes did not originate beneath the ocean but came from above. The succession of civilizations and continuous wars affected not only the land but also the seas. Everything began to deteriorate. Creatures in the Abysmal Sea could no longer adapt to the even worse situation. Withering and death came without warning. The largest of them were the first to contend. These giant fibrous creatures wriggled their tentacles and bodies to rush upwards, but only to be torn apart due to the Injunction.
The others could not understand their fate, but they knew they needed change - it's an instinct of all living things. Therefore, they started to think about workarounds. They started to try to break the Injunction. The only prisoner who eventually got rid of the Abysmal Sea, was Atlas. As the most experienced individual, he sensed the change sooner than any of his kind when the Abysmal Sea was involved. He was the first to prepare the escape.
The fleshes torn apart warned the rest creatures that their bodies were vulnerable to the overwhelming power. To break the Injunction, he must regain a rigid shell. Atlas kept wandering and searching over the deep. Until one day, in a pile of those civilization remains, he found his destined shell - the Mecha Sentry, a set of giant ancient machinery armor. These big things were manufactured as war machines by the Iceland Golems who once ruled the Northern Vale. After the demise of the ancient golems, they were abandoned by the later civilizations, thrown into the ocean, and totally forgotten by the world.
Atlas slowly approached the Mecha Sentry, found it decayed on the sea floor like a stiff scrap of iron due to the missing of the control core. He then entered the center of the machine, stretched his tentacles, injected them into each joint, and began to take control. Along with a rumbling noise, the Mecha Sentry who slept for thousands of years lit its eyes again. The forgotten body and the abandoned soul got perfectly combined and unified.
The giant Mecha Sentry broke through the Injunction, rushed from the deep to the surface, then jumped up above the sea. It was the time the world welcomed a new player - Atlas, the Ironclad Kraken.
Atlas felt strange and curious about this world. He visited everywhere seas can reach driven by the desire for learning and strengthening. He frantically drew knowledge from creatures, races and civilizations. Meanwhile, his control of the Mecha Sentry became more and more proficient. As if the machine was originally made for him. But no matter how long time passed, Atlas is always haunted by a thought - his kind are still struggling in the Abysmal Sea, the biggest jail and the remotest place in the world.
Now, Atlas has not only a hard armor, but also a plan. He will break the Injunction between the Abysmal Sea and the world, save his kind from the eternal imprisonment. There is a secret treasure only the pirates believe that hidden somewhere in the sea of Northern Vale. It has the power to regenerate, powerful enough to change the ecology of an entire ocean. Atlas wants it, from the first time he learned the story.

Many a race has risen and fallen throughout the expansive history of the Land of Dawn. Belerick is one of the few who have borne witness to all this throughout the mists of time. When the world was first formed, the mysterious Ancient Ones aided the Forefathers as they created all things in this universe. Together they constructed the grand and massive Celestial Palace and the myriad elemental creatures, who would live as successors to their bloodlines.
When Belerick was but a young sapling, he was chosen by the Ancient Ones and given the essence of life and Mother Nature; this bestowed upon him the powers of intelligent though, deep wisdom, and the wondrous ability of reincarnation. Under the Ancient Ones' protection he lived together with the elemental creatures within the Lantis Mountain ranges, a place flourishing with life and vitality.
However, this blissful existence would not last long. The Forefathers departed and the Endless War descended upon the lands, plunging the Land of Dawn into the throes of fierce battle and slaughter: the Ancient Ones retreated to the Celestial Palace and the elemental creatures thus lost the protection they'd once been granted. The creatures were left without a safe home of their own, and slain en masse as the fires of war blazed ever on.
They were forced to wander the lands for an entire age. Belerick watched as the Land of Dawn was ravaged by the raging war, no corner left untouched by the fighting. As he did so, Belerick grew from a sapling into a mighty tree. The warfare had stripped him of his former life, and hardened his power of will; despite having lost many of his companions in the process, he nonetheless refused to give up the hope he had in life. He sought to use his power to the best of his ability in helping out those weaker than him. In the later stages of the Era of Strife, the Ancient Ones who had returned to their Celestial Palace long ago could no longer stand the pitiable state of the world below, and went against the orders of the Forefathers as they rashly used the Twilight Orbs' power to try and end the war.
